Traditional, Contemporary, and Transitional Styles. Traditional is a popular choice for bathroom fixtures since they will go with most home designs. Transitional and contemporary styles better fit bathrooms of these specific architectural home styles. Transitional is a blend of traditional and contemporary and has simple curved lines that flow in an elegant visual movement. Matching Fixtures. Some homeowners don't like the uniform look of matched hardware while others would never consider mixing styles. Most interior designers prefer the uniform look that matching fixtures give so that the focal point of the room design isn't interrupted. For homeowners, this is considered a personal choice; however, the design rule of thumb is regardless of style, you want to use the same metal and finish for all hardware (fixtures).
Typically when we start a bathroom renovation we have one tile that we dream of including in our design. Sometimes it is a really special or unique accent tile and sometimes it is as simple as knowing that you want white subway tile. Either way, take that dream tile and use it as the starting point for the other tile you will choose for your bathroom design. Taking your first (must have) choice as a starting point, use it to make the decisions for the other tiles you will include in your design. If your must have is a really unique color or pattern and is going to be the focal point of your design, pull more subtle colors from it to use in your accent tiles. If however your first choice is really plain (like a white subway tile) you may want to add an element of interest with a colorful accent tile or even a smaller scale white penny tile to change it up and add interest.
Selection Of The Right Style. The right style of bathroom furniture can range from standard floor standing vanities to wall storage to fully fitted options. Bathroom storage cabinets is available in plentiful styles which can work for different types of spaces. You can choose a style which complements the rest of the décor or pick the one that has a completely off-beat appearance. Deciding On The Finish, Any finish you choose for your bathroom furniture will be directly proportional to the entire look and feel of the bathroom. If you have a small bathroom and you wish to make it look bigger and better, go for furniture options in light colours. For a grand bathroom, dark and dramatic shades will prove to be a great fit.
